The Body of Christ needs to stand united in Love. Christians living and working together in harmony and unity is pleasing to God. Such solidarity also strengthens the Christian community and increases our abilities to help advance the Kingdom of God.
As individuals, we should all belong to a local church assembly. But, we all should also stand united in Love and purpose with our other Brothers and Sisters in Christ all around the world as part of the Global Christian Church. As someone very wise once said, there may be laws against many things, but there is no law against Love!
